Advisory – Deferment of Parliament sitting

As was emphasised by the Honourable Prime Minister, Fiji may be facing a new, more contagious, and deadlier variant of COVID. The situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving and Fiji is once again faced with a grave and present danger to the lives of the Fijian people.

We must, at all costs, be vigilant – we must act together to stop this virus from spreading.

Together, we must all adhere to the life-saving health directives/measures and restrictions which have been put in place by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

In that regard, the Business Committee met this afternoon and has unanimously approved that the Parliamentary business scheduled for 26 to 30 April 2021 be deferred until further notice.

May God bless Fiji and may God bless us all.
