Listed below are a list of Committees within the Parliamentary system. Click to view the committee site, reports and the bills which are currently assigned to them.
Legislative Committees
The Legislative Committees deliberate on Bills referred to them by the Parliament.
Select Committees
The Select Committees do not deliberate on Bills but meet to discuss various issues raised within the Parliament.
Privileges Committee

The Committee of Privileges  consists of nine Members who are appointed by the Speaker after consultation with the Prime Minister and Leader of Opposition.

 

The duties of this Committee are:

  • To bring to the attention of the House any breach of privilege of the House committed by any person or persons and recommend to the House whata action should be taken;
  • To consider and report upon such question of privileges as may be referred to it by the House;
  • To conduct enquiry into any complaint that may be referred to it by the House concerning any breach of privilege on the part of any person or persons from time to time; and for such purposes to have and exercise the powers available to the House in respect of any matter for consideration by the House or any committee thereof.
