Committees

Listed below are a list of Committees within the Parliamentary system. Click to view the committee site, reports and the bills which are currently assigned to them.

Legislative Committees

The Legislative Committees deliberate on Bills referred to them by the Parliament.

Select Committees

The Select Committees do not deliberate on Bills but meet to discuss various issues raised within the Parliament.

Business Committee

The Business Committee consists of the Prime Minister, or some Minister designated by him from time to time, Leader of the Opposition and seven other Members who shall be appointed by the Speaker after consultation with the Prime Minster and the Leader of the Opposition.

It is the function of this Committee to perform such duties as the House may from time to time refer to it and determine the business of each day and the order which it shall be taken.

The current Chairman of this Committee is Hon. Laisenia Qarase.
